A short drive today, only 116 miles from Ft Nelson to Toad River, BC. Toad River is just about in the middle of nowhere, BC, but handy to break up the mileage on the way to Watson Lake in the Yukon.
We didn't stop at Toad River when we did the trip in 2015, but decided to give it a try. We liked the campground and it's views outside of our window were of the little lake, where we saw most of our wildlife for the day, with the exception of one lonely black bear along side the highway.
They blasted through a lot of rock to make this section of the highway
We followed the Testla River for a good portion of the day
The one little lonely black bear we saw along the highway today
We crossed the river two or three times
The view outside our back window at the Toad River Lodge & RV Park. These swans were very protective of their little ones!
You have to look closely, just in front of the Mama duck is a gaggle of little ducks
Our site
People from all over the world have added their hats to the collection here
This little guy was in the bush right behind the rig
This beaver was doing a little maintenance on his abode in the lake
Can you tell the weather has turned cold? We caught a break in the rain to have our travel meeting
Even Jim donned some dreads for the occasion
