Carmacks, Yukon 7/8/15

July 8, 2015

It was so hard to leave Skagway this morning, but it had to be done, we had commitments. So, at 8:00 am, we headed back up that 11% grade out of Skagway, back through Whitehorse, YT and north up the Klondike Loop to Carmacks, YT.

It's a travel day, so of course it's going to rain!!

Back into the Yukon, notice the sun is out again!!

A desert??? Really??? Actually, the remains of a dried out lake

Nothing to worry about here, just another "Moose crossing warning" Actually, some of our members have now seen a moose, but we haven't!!

Nothing unusual about this picture either...

We made it to Carmacks, YT, and the sun in shining...for now...
Shortly after we arrived, it started to rain, and rain, and rain...Parking in this RV Park was well thought out, but after group 2 failed to arrive, and we had people all over town waiting to get in, we finally had to shuffle things around and pull who was there into the park. Everyone in the parking crew was soaked from head to toe!! After drying off, we gave the little cafe at the park a try, not to bad.  Then Phil & I took a short walk down to the water. The Yukon River runs right next to the park. This picture was taken about 9:30 pm, still not use to this 24 hour daylight thing!
