Bardstown, KY

8/18/21

We moved to Bardstown, KY, made famous by the number of Bourbon Distilleries. There are several houses and buildings that date back to the late 1700’s, early 1800’s. The people of Bardstown are very involved in preserving their history.

Stephen Foster is a very popular guy here in Bardstown because he wrote My Old Kentucky Home about a local plantation home that he was visiting. Unfortunately, the performances were closed for the season before we got here.

This is City Hall, which sits in the middle of a huge traffic circle for the main street, and highways that run through the middle of town.
Built in 1799, the Talbot Tavern has been here for many years. We ate lunch here one day, the food was pretty good (above)
