8/5 & 8/6/21
The Corning Glass Museum. This place is so big and there is so much to see, that the tickets are good for two days, and it took us two days to see most of it. I’m sure that there are bits and pieces that we missed. There is every type of glass and every use of glass on display. There is glass for ancient times, before I knew glass existed. There is art glass, utility glass, stained glass, painted glass, blown glass, fused glass, dishes, china, crystal, everyday glasses, beautiful glass and ugly glass, just to name a few.
I think Phil took pictures of most of it, hundreds of pictures. Often it was hard to get a good picture of the glass on display because they were behind glass and the reflection on the display case glass obscured the piece he was trying to photograph. If you are ever in this neck of the woods, this is a must-see experience! The gift shop alone took a couple of hours to go through!
