Drumheller, AB, Canada to Shelby, MT, USA

Monday, July 15, 2013

A very sad farewell this morning to John and Fran, brought me to tears! Very strange to be traveling and not have them with us! Miss you guys!!

We left Drumheller about 10:00 this morning, making our way south through Alberta to the Port of Entry at Sweet Grass, Montana.
Our final destination was Shelby, MT. Lots of wind today, all the way down to Shelby. We didn’t have to much trouble due to wind, but it was interesting watching the truckers. In Canada they still pull doubles and one guy had two long trailers, the back one was swaying a bit.

The day was quite uneventful until we reached Shelby. We pulled off of I-15 to get fuel before going to the RV Park and Phil tells me that while he was putting fuel into the truck the front, driver’s side trailer tire went flat. We were already watching the front tire on the other side because it was wearing funny. So, Phil got the compressor out and aired the tire up and we took off for the nearest tire store. I got a little pissed, because here we go again!! But, Phil says that these two tires (yes, we ended up replacing both front tires on the trailer), were put on in Boston last year. So, that being the case, they made the Maritime trip, then back home, a couple of short trips, then this one. That’s a lot of miles, so I guess it’s not as bad as it seems.
