Got a good start this
morning, left Shelby about 10:00, heading south on I-15, then west on Hwy 200.
This goes through the center of Montana and for the most part, follows the
Blackfoot River from the Continental Divide all the way through Missoula. When
we first got onto Hwy 200 it was mostly farm land, crops and cattle pastures. Also
saw several Missile Silos. I would not have known what they were, but Phil used
to work on them, so he knew right away. When
we crossed the Divide the terrain became mountainous. The big snow melt that we
saw back in June has ended, only a few of the higher mountains have any snow
left on them, so the rivers have calmed down to a normal flow.
We stopped at Wal-Mart
going south through Missoula on Hwy 93 to Lolo, where we turned right onto Hwy
12. Shortly thereafter, we pulled into the Square Dance Center and RV Park.
They invited us to join them for their Round Dance Lessons tonight, I politely
declined. Actually, I might have found it to be fun, but Phil has two left
feet, so any kind of dance lessons are definitely out.
Phil is doing better.
Right now he is only have discomfort under his arm and just above his elbow as
far as muscle pain is concerned. The elbow joint is also bothering him. This is
still all on the right side. He feels like it is controllable now, but if it is
still bothering him after the Coast Guard Reunion at the end of the month, then
we will be spending some time in the Portland area so he can visit the VA.
